Is replacing a wheel bearing a hard task?

My cousins husband wants to take a stab at it, he's done minor work on cars before (brake pads, rotors, calipers, spark plugs).. I don't really want to take my car over and risk him not knowing how to finish the job. Is it a long process? I guess if he finds directions online it should be easy, right?
