One of the Commandments is *Thou shall Honor thy Mother and Father*?

I agree... however, we do live in this mortal world and it is full of evil... we must protect ourselves as well as relying on God. For those who are able there is no commandment or instructdion I have ever seen in God's Word which decrees we are to stay in abusive relationships, espacialy when the danger is pysical. Even children who are able should flee such danger.... like with forgiveness, which we are to do , there is no requirement that we are to foreget, or to place trust in one who has tresped against us... there is no requirement to continue to allow someone to abuse us...
