Put him back in his (hopefully) proper tank, give him a dose of Stress Zyme, Bio-Coat, or something similar. Scold your daughter and put the nets where she can't get a hold of them, and pray. Bettas are hardy, he may pull through. However, he may not, depends how much she terrorized him. Just watch him and see if he improves. Good luck, I hope he makes it!
