Will people be able to colonize Mars, Venus, the Moon etc. before using up the resources on Earth?

The Earth has far more of the basic resources we need than any other planet or moon in this solar system, so I very much doubt that people will be able to colonize those places. Or, if people can figure out how to live on Mars without those resources, then they can just do that on Earth too.
